but i doubt anyone loved the ocean because
“it is pretty”...
the ocean is ugly, chaotic,
it smells like space and freedom,
and tastes like tears.
from the shore,
seems as scary as life,
and maybe that’s why we are drawn to it:
an attempt to forget grammar
and remember swimming.
